Camp - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What level
of fitness do I need to have to take
part in a Noosa Tri Camp?
A: It depends on which
camp you are looking at, for example
our Noosa Tri themed camps (including
all women’s camp) ideally your
fitness level would be as such being
able to at least swim 400m in a pool
and be able to run 5km.
For our longer
distance camps, having already participated
in a half ironman or aiming to complete
one in the near future would be a
prerequisite we would recommend. Fitness
wise be able to swim 2km , cycle 80km
and run at least 15km would be recommended.
Q: What
type of participants usually attends?
A: There is no particular
category of athletes. We have participants
of all ages and abilities (majority
usually in their first or second season
of competing ) In one of our recent
Long distance camps we had ages between
25 to 65 years participating and everywhere
in between. We cater for all abilities
with plenty of support on the longer
rides so no need to fear being left
behind.
Q:
For the longer distance rides, do
I have to do the full distance?
A: For the long distance
camps we offer shorter ride distances
i.e our 180km ride there is an option
to only do 90km or 120km
Q: To keep
costs to a minimum, I am attending
as a single but the cheapest accommodation
option offers a 4-share , can I still
book this option?
A: Yes providing Noosa
Tri camps can match you with 3 other
participants otherwise you may have
to pay a slightly higher premium.
This will be dealt with individually
and we make sure we interact with
the person well before the camp commences.
Q: I am travelling
from interstate and I don’t
want to have to bring my own bike,
do you have bike hire options?
A: Yes we can organize
a bike to fit your size that will
be good quality to enable you to fully
participate in the camp. Email us
for Bike hire rates
Q: I want to
participate in the camp but I feel
intimidated by rubbing shoulders with
“all those fit people”
attending….
A: This is a common
misconception, the majority of our
participants are new to the sport,
especially in our Noosa Tri themed/all
women’s camps. There is no need
to feel like you cant take part in
all facets of the camp, we cater to
all fitness levels and will adjust
the set program to accommodate this.
Prior to the camp a full questionnaire
is sent to all participants where
we ask specific questions to allow
us to sufficiently group you all into
various groups matching your ability.
Q: How soon
do I have to secure my spot?
A: Our camps do have limited places
available. We intentionally aim to
keep numbers manageable so your camp
experience has more of a personalized
feel to it. Therefore making it more
exclusive to you. With this in mind
we encourage you to pay a deposit
sooner rather than later so that your
spot is secured and the balance is
payable four weeks prior to camp commencing.
Q: Our training group (6 or
more) would love to organize our own
custom camp, is this something you
would be able to offer us?
A: Yes, we offer custom
camps for corporate, training groups
and Tri clubs, see our testimonials.
You get full access to Noosa Tri camps
coaches and resources with a number
of options available to make your
Noosa Tri Camp experience a memorable
one.
